     South Stoneham, HAM, ENG.² He was the son of Edmund Dummer and Barbara Cornelius.² Edmund in South Stoneham, County of Southampton, ENG, was a named beneficiary in the Will (or Codicil) of Rev. John Dummer dated 13 January 1689/90 "To my nephew Edmond Dummer Jr, son of Edmond Dummer of Swathling, co. Southampton, all my land and estate which (that) I received from my father, known as Barnes Land in South Stoneham in said county, and to the heirs male of his body ...¹ Edmund Dummer was named as executor in the will of Edmund Dummer dated 17 October 1698.¹ Edmund Dummer was Appointed to the Government post of Clerk of the Great Wardrobe; succeeded by his Nephew Thomas Lee Dummer on 6 June 1706 in LDN, ENG.³
     Edmund married, at age 51, Leonora-Sophia Dutton-Colt, aged 23 , daughter of Sir William Dutton-Colt Kt and Mary Garneys, on Thursday, 16 May 1715 in Westminster, LDN, ENG. Edmund aged at an unknown age Petitioned the Earl Marshall for use of the Dummer arms which was denied; instead, the use of a modified Dummer coat of arms was granted in 1720.³ Edmund left a will dated 15 October 1720,Edmund Dummer Esq of Swaythling; Abstract: To be buried under the seat where I usually sit in the parish church of South Stoneham, or near my dear father and mother, as my executor see fit. -I give all my manors, lands, and tenements in the County of Southampton, London, and County of Middlesex, or elsewhere in England, to my brother in Law Thomas Shipman, Merchant (really no relation, but his wife's half-brother, son of her mother by former husband), and John Baines of the Inner Temple, London, Esq., in trust for my dear brother Thomas Dummer, for his life, with remainder to my nephew Thomas Lee Dummer, until the child with my wife is now enceinte (if a son) shall reach the age of 21, when he is to have the same, but, if he (should) die before that age, or without issue, then to said Thomas Lee Dummer for life, with the remainder to my daughter Mary and the child of which my wife is enceinte (if a daughter), and to the longest liver of them. -To my said daughter Mary, and my said unborn child (if a daughter), each £5000 at age of 21 or marriage. -For a school at North Stoneham, £300., and £5, per annum towards the maintenance of a School-Master. -(Makes provision for maintaining and educating four or more children of his daughter Mary, or the unborn child (if a daughter), and three of the boys are to take the surname of Dummer, and the fourth that of Cornelius, in memory of his own dear mother deceased). -If said daughter (or daughters) have no issue, then said four boys to be selected from among the children of my relations John Hunt, Richard Hunt, (blank) Bartlett, and any of my late aunts (blank) Kemish and Anne Bear, deceased (this was a blunder of the writer of the Will, or more likely a failure of memory on the part of the testator, for the name of his aunt Kemish was Anne, and that of his aunt Beare was Elizabeth; as he evidently could not give his aunt Kemish's Christian name, it is evident that he confused the two), being kindred of my father's side; and of Margaret Dort, John Norborne and Barbara Fry, deceased, being kindred of my mother's side. -If necessary, my estates in London, Essex and Middlesex to be sold. -To my Cousin John Norborne £10. - To Thomas Steggall, Gent., £10. -To the poor of North and South Stoneham £40. -I intend by other means to signify my reasons why the heirs of my cousin Andrews, widow, lately deceased, have no reason to expect any profit or advantage of my labours. -I give £300 for the erection of monuments for my father and mother and my brothers, where they lie interred, and I will that the corpse of my late dear brother Charles, deceased, be carried from the vault of St.Dunstan in the West, London, and interred where my father, mother and brothers lie."¹ His wrote a codicil on 9 May 1724 Codicil: "Whereas since making my will I have had two children by me begotten of the body of my wife, now living, viz. Monument. "M. S. Edmundi Dummer, de Swayling in agro Hantoniensi, Armigeri, Hospitii Lincolniensis Barrasterii, Qui e Leonora Sophia uxore, Gulielmi Dutton Colt, militus, apud Hannoveram olim legati filia, liberos quinque, duos silicet filios et tres filias, suscepit, E quibus Johannem, Mariam et Elizabetham superstites reliquit. Edmundo et Catherinae infantibus, que ab iis pius sibi ipsi praestari maluit parens, suprema officia executus est, suorum dum vixit amans, amicis charus, vicinis hospes, clientibus audiit fidus, notis monibus desideratus, obiit 10 Calendas Junii, Anno AEtatis 61, Domini 1714."¹ Administation of Edmund's estate was granted in Canterbury, KEN, ENG, on 5 June 1724 to the Executor Thomas Dummer Esq.⁴

     Born on Monday, 24 September 1691 in Zell, GER.³ Leonora-Sophia Dutton-Colt was the daughter of Sir William Dutton-Colt Kt and Mary Garneys.² Leonora-Sophia was baptised on 26 September 1691 in Zell, GER.³
     Leonora-Sophia married, at age 23, Edmund Dummer, aged 51 , son of Edmund Dummer and Barbara Cornelius, on Thursday, 16 May 1715 in Westminster, LDN, ENG.
     Leonora-Sophia married, at age 37, Denis Bond Esq. on Saturday, 2 July 1729 in DOR, ENG, Denis Bond Esq. of Grange Dorset.^1,4 Leonora-Sophia died on 26 March 1766 at age 74.¹ Leonora-Sophia was buried on 3 April 1766 in London, LDN, ENG.¹

      Catherine was baptised on 18 June 1719 in Holborn, LDN, ENG. She was the daughter of Edmund Dummer and Leonora-Sophia Dutton-Colt. Catherine died before 20 February 1719/20.¹ Catherine was buried on 20 February 1719/20 in South Stoneham, HAM, ENG.¹

      Elizabeth Dummer was also known as Elisabeth Dummer. Elizabeth was baptised on 30 September 1722 in Holborn, LDN, ENG. She was the daughter of Edmund Dummer and Leonora-Sophia Dutton-Colt. Elizabeth was a named beneficiary in the Will (or Codicil) of Edmund Dummer dated 9 May 1724 Codicil: "Whereas since making my will I have had two children by me begotten of the body of my wife, now living, viz. John and Elizabeth, said John, being the child of which my wife was then enciente, will now inherit my estate, -To my said daughter Elizabeth £5000., at the age of 21 or marriage...¹
     Elizabeth married, at age 18, Valentine Knightly Esq, aged 22 , son of Lucy Knightly Esq. and Jane-Grey Benson, on Tuesday, 20 December 1740 in Hanover Square, LDN, ENG, Valentine Knightley Esq., Lord of the Manor of Fawsley Northants.¹
     Elizabeth married, at age 18, Valentine Knightly Esq, aged 22 , son of Lucy Knightly Esq. and Jane-Grey Benson, on Wednesday, 21 December 1740.²
     Elizabeth married, at age 18, Valentine Knightly Esq, aged 22 , son of Lucy Knightly Esq. and Jane-Grey Benson, on Thursday, 22 December 1740 in Hanover Square, LDN, Dowry 10,000 GBP. Niece to Thomas Dummer, Esq., Deputy Master of the Great Wardrobe.³ She was granted administration of John Dummer's estate On Monday, 17 March 1748/49 in Canterbury, KEN, ENG,; His estates, which where very considerable, went to his two surviving sisters, as his next heirs. He left no Will, but letters of administration were granted by the PCC to his sister Elizabeth Knightley, his mother Mrs Bond having renounced administration.¹ Elizabeth left a will dated 30 May 1754.⁴ Elizabeth died on 11 August 1760 in LDN, ENG, at age 37.⁵ Elizabeth was buried on 20 August 1760 in Fawley, HAM, ENG.⁴
