     Thomas Brockett Probably lived into his 80s. His is the eldest surviving Guilden Morden line. Apart from Solomon and Jane and William and Fanny, Thomas and Mary Ann had more children than anyone else in the family. Solomon (b.c. 1829) had 12, and William (b.c. 1815) had 11. In 1851 Thomas was living with his parents at Little Green, Guilden Morden, and although only aged 7, is described as Agricultural Labourer! (census). In 1861 the same applied, apart from being aged 16. He married in neighbouring Wrestlingworth, Mary Ann's parish. He is descibed as 'Groom' on the marriage certificate (JC, notes to tree, 1979). Their first six children, from John to Wilfred, were baptised in Guilden Morden Church. For the 1871 census he was not at home. Wife Mary Ann 'Brockette' (aged 23) was there (Church End, Guilden Morden) with three children, John (4), Frank (2) Sarah (7 weeks), all born in Guilden Morden. By 1879 he and Mary Ann were living in Therfield, HRT (just south of Royston), where at least four of their children were born (Alfred, Edwin, Rose and Francis); they were the only Brockett family living in HRT in 1881! (IGI 1881 census). The last two children (Francis and Stanley) were baptised in Guilden Morden Church in 1887 and 1891, so the family may have moved from Therfield back to Guilden Morden in 1886/7, between Francis' birth and baptism, when Thomas was about 43. For the 1891 census Thomas was again not at home (did his work a s a coachman and ostler take him away a lot?) Wife Mary Ann (aged 43) was there (Back Street, Guilden Morden) with four children, Edwin (10 Scholar), Rose (8 Scholar) Alfred A. (6 Scholar) and Francis(3 ), all born in Therfield. (AP4, perhaps because of the gap of 10+ years between Wilfred and Francis and unaware of theTherfield children, questions Francis and Stanley.) Thomas and Mary Ann lived their later years in Hitchin, at 36 Bedford Street, and died between 1920 and 1930 (SB letter 18/6/98).¹ Reference: SD18.² Born circa 1844 in Guilden Morden, Royston, CAM, ENG.      Thomas married Mary Ann Munsey on Saturday, 15 September 1866 in Wrestlingworth, BDF, ENG.¹ Thomas Brockett was a Domestic Groom & Gardener in April 1881 in Therfield.⁴ He was a Groom circa 1887 in Guilden Morden.⁵ He was a Coachman circa 1891 in Guilden Morden.⁶ He was a Domestic Coachman in January 1901 in Hitchin.
Thomas Brockett's death was registered in the March quarter of 1930 in the Hitchin Registration District.⁷

     Stanley Lawrence Brockett was an Iron Moulder in Hitchin.¹ He Lived to 80. Called 'Big Stan'. Worked at Isaacs of St. Ippolitts, and in Letchworth.¹ Reference: JP1623.¹ Stanley Lawrence was christened on 25 October 1891 in Guilden Morden, Royston, CAM, ENG.² He was the son of Thomas Brockett and Mary Ann Munsey.¹
The marriage of Stanley and Agnes Maud Peacher was registered in the September quarter of 1913 in the Aylsham Registration District.³ Stanley died in 1971 in Hitchin, HRT, ENG.¹

     Francis Brockett was Post Office Worker in Hitchin.¹ He Sergeant Major in World War I (SB, phone conversation 20/6/98).¹ Born on Saturday, 9 July 1887 in Therfield, HRT, ENG.^1,2 He was the son of Thomas Brockett and Mary Ann Munsey.¹ Francis was baptised on 28 August 1887 in Guilden Morden, Royston, CAM, ENG.³
     Francis married, at age 20, Lottie Foster, aged 20 on Thursday, 31 October 1907 in Hitchin, Hitchin, HRT, ENG, Francis, a Grocer's Assistant, Lottie a Dressmaker.¹ Francis died on 25 February 1969 at age 81.¹

     Born on Saturday, 4 September 1880 in Therfield, HRT, ENG.^2,3 Edwin Brockett was the son of Thomas Brockett and Mary Ann Munsey.¹ Edwin was baptised on 7 November 1880 in Therfield, Royston, HRT, ENG.⁴ He was a Mechanic in January 1901 in Hitchin.⁵
     Edwin married, at age 24, Olive Fanny Izzard, aged 19 on Monday, 12 June 1905 in Hitchin, HRT, ENG.^6,1 On 1910 Edwin Brockett sailed into USA Before emigrating to the States in 1910 Edwin was a Carpenter at Barkers (JC, notes to tree, 1979). The following information comes from a newspaper cutting of 1970 , when Edwin and his wife celebrated their 65th. wedding anniversary (sent by JC,18/8/98, see 'documents' file). They moved to Detroit, Michigan, in 1910. From 1925 onwards they lived in Lincoln Park, and were living in Lincoln Park Towers in 1970. Before retirement, Edwin was a maintenance man for the local school system. They were members of the First Methodist Church, and in 1970 had 6 children living (names given), 25 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren. Edwin sang in the Church Choir for more than 40 years. Edwin was a good gymnast (SB, phone conversation 20/6/98). Edwin's birth date confirmed in the British Isles Vital Records Index.
He lived to 92.¹ Edwin died on 23 January 1973 at age 92.¹

     Alfred died in Hoddesden, HRT, ENG.¹ He Aged 2 in 1881 according to the IGIcensus (HRT). No record of bap tism in Guilden Morden. Bornin Therfield according to the 1891 cens us, aged 6, Scholar(Guilden Morden). Was a Baker and Confectioner i n NottsBakery, Hitchin, then a Greengrocer in Hoddesden (JC, notes t otree, 1979). The ritish Isles Vital Records Index gives Alfredsbirth and christen ing dates as 1885.      Wilfred married, at age 28, Emma Walker, daughter of William Walker, on Wednesday, 30 August 1905 in Luton, BDF, ENG.^3,1 Wilfred Brockett was a Wholesale Carpet Salesman circa April 1911 in Hanwell.⁴
