Father: Frederick John Sellers, a Shepherd on Thursday, 4 February 1897 in Fordingbridge, County of Southampton, ENG.² Walter Edward was christened on 14 February 1897 in Fordingbridge, HAM, ENG. From the citation, one of Walter's School teachers was Mrs Julia GREEN.³ Walter Served in India - possibly sent home because under age, 1915 Served in relief of Kut (-al-Amara, now in Iraq) Mesopotamia and Gallipoli (Turkey). 1916 Served in Mesopotamia with 2/4 Dorset Regiment. 1917 Served in France and later Gallipoli (Turkey) with the Gloucester Regiment. First world war service is confusing, but appears that he was found to be under age and was due to return to England via Bombay and Egypt, but his ship was torpedoed.
